A team of students from Bucharest is preparing for one of the most important challenges of the robotics season. *ViCyber #21476, the robotics team of “Tudor Vianu” National College of Computer Science, is set to represent Romania at the Canadian Rockies Premier Event in Edmonton, Canada, as part of the international *FIRST Tech Challenge competition.

For the members of ViCyber, participating in this competition is the result of an entire season of hard work, during which they built, programmed, and tested their robot, while also developing communication, marketing, and STEM outreach projects.

Their qualification for the competition in Canada comes after a strong performance at the national level. At the Romanian South Regional, the team won the Control Award, one of the competition’s most important technical awards, and managed to set a European scoring record.

Now, the ViCyber students are ready to take the experience they gained in Romania to the international stage. 48 teams from 14 countries will participate in the Canadian Rockies Premier Event, giving them the opportunity to compete and learn alongside robotics teams from around the world.

“For us, this competition is about more than just the robot. It is a chance to represent Romania, learn from teams from other countries, and show what we can accomplish together as a team.”
